Priest In Charge
In Partnership with St. John the Evangelist (Essington)
The Rev. Jessie Thompson is a native of Portland, Oregon. She received a Master of Divinity and a Post-Masters in Transforming Spirituality with an emphasis in Spiritual Direction at Seattle University’s School of Theology & Ministry, and did her Anglican Year at Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA. Rev. Thompson has over two decades of ministry experience, faith formation facilitation, and student/adult leadership training, serving the church as a Community Architect, Associate for Youth and University Students, and Associate for Youth and Children. Outside of her work as an educator, pastor, adjunct religion professor, MBTI Certified Practitioner, and Spiritual Director, she is a speaker, retreat facilitator, curriculum writer, spiritual experience leader, and event planner in a variety of settings including college campuses, churches, non-profits, and in/out-of-country service trips. Her passions and areas of teaching/ministry include creating space for people to encounter the Holy, Body Theology, Labyrinth work, MBTI, discovering God’s deepest desires in our lives, and work around ‘middle space,’ hospitality/intentional vulnerability, transitions, anger, forgiveness, grief, and loss. Her heart beats for the marginalized, and she seeks to provide safe spaces for all to feel welcomed, known, loved, and celebrated. Rev. Thompson is a sucker for watching God’s grace show up in unexpected places, and she loves the idea of second chances and transformation.
When not involved in any of the above-mentioned, you might find her enjoying time with her clergy husband, walking her sweet dog, Porkchop, making silly videos for her favorite nieces, or dancing somewhere–anywhere! She loves a good cup of coffee and conversation, so she hopes you’ll reach out for both.
